After spending a fair few hours scouring the domain hosting sites it's becoming clear that it isn't actually as expensive as i thought when it comes to having your own bit of space on the internet. Me and my photography partner are decidng it's time to get out of the model networking sites. So as weve moved up with our camera gear, we must now move up with our website.
We've grown tired of the flakes from Modelmayhem and the ridiculous proposals from Purestorm. Admittedly if you look hard enough you can find some good models and camera advice, but there are far better ways of going about finding that without having to encounter people who seem to have family tragedies every other week. I lost count of how many times people said they couldn't get to a shoot because their grandparents were rushed to hospital, they themselves were rushed to hospital or their dog was killed.
Between us we have a rough foundation of website management, but it cant be too hard to get a brief understanding of everything we need to know.Working on brushing up my HTML/CSS, RSS/syndication and the advertising side of things. I got hold of a copy of Wordpress which i heard is a big help too.
If anyone has any advice, dont hesitate to send it my way.
